About the Name "Takshashila Gurukul"
Takshashila was once a beacon of knowledge to the world, shaping the future of humanity in Medicine, Politics, Philosophy, Linguistics, Military Science, and Economics.
Panini (6th Century BC) - Teacher at Takshashila, known as father of Linguistics, wrote Astadhyayi.
Charak (5th Century BC) - Student at Takshashila, known as father of Medicine, wrote Charak Samhita, was a principal contributor to Ayurved.
Chanakya (4th Century BC) - Teacher at Takshashila, a pioneer in Political Science and Economics, authored Arthashastra and Chanakya Neeti.
Chandragupt Maurya (4th Century BC) - Disciple of Chanakya at Takshashila, under his guidance Chandragupt Maurya defeated the Dhananand, Seleucus and conquered more than 40 states and established one authority- Akhand Bharat, comprising of the present India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran.
Takshashila is synonymous with knowledge, and Gurukul signifies the home of the Guru, where disciples receive foundational education from their teacher. After research of several months, we named our school - "Takshashila Gurukul"
